Academic Programs

The Department currently offers two distinct graduate programs.

Aerospace Engineering  where students can pursue Masters and PhD degrees with specialization in areas such as aerodynamics, structural mechanics and controls, and -

Experimental Methods  where students pursue Masters degrees with heavy emphasis in hands-on, practice oriented work.

A third graduate programs, a Masters degree in Motorsports Engineering, has just been made available for enrollemnt on a limited basis.

At the undergraduate level, the Department offers two Minors:

• A Minor in Aerospace Engineering, primarily for students in the Mechanical Engineering B.S. program.
• A Minor in Motorsports Engineering, suited to students in the Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology B.S. programs, as well as the Motorsports Technology program offered via the New College Institue in Martinsville, VA.
