Professional services are required to support military reimbursable projects within the South Atlantic Division. Two (2) positions are required for Project Managers to perform a broad scope of services working at the Savannah District Headquarters in Savannah, Georgia.
Duration: 30 April 2008 to 30 October 2008.
Specific tasks and responsibilities may include:
- Overall management, control, coordination and integration of assigned projects.
- Coordination and development of project management plans and appropriate acquisition strategies.
- Development and management of project schedules and budgets from receipt through construction contract award.
- Development and management of project scopes to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met.
- Plan and schedule accomplishment of design, appropriate reviews, and approvals of the project design. Obtains required data and criteria, resolves problems which arise, analyzes design costs, and prepares reports and correspondence.
- Communication of project status and issues with the customer and all stakeholders (Project Delivery Team).
- Development and maintenance of project management information systems and preparation or delivery of presentations and routine briefings on the status of assigned projects.
These services require a broad technical background and project management experience.
The Project Manager must become familiar with the overall program directives, schedules, and pertinent policies including fiscal targets for design, and all relevant District administrative and reporting procedures pertinent to the assigned work.
Experienced professional judgment must be applied in dealing frequently with customer requirements and acquisition methods.
Typical projects include maintenance, repairs, and renovations to buildings including training facilities, operational facilities, community facilities and installation infrastructure projects. Projects typically vary in size from $100,000 to $2.5 Million. Minor new construction projects may be undertaken up to approximately $1.5 Million in size.
Travel associated with this position is infrequent and is expected to not exceed 3 days a month.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF PROJECT MANAGERS:
Both Degree and Experience requirements must be met.
1. Degree: College Degree in professional engineering or architecture (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Civil, etc). To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials; (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials; and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
On resumes submitted include: college/university, dates attended, degree achieved, semester hours earned, GPA, major field of study, 24 semester hours of specific courses and course hours in major filed.
2. Experience: Two (2) years experience working in an engineering or construction related position. Experience must be after completion of the degree requirements.

Professional services are required to support MILCON projects within the South Atlantic Division. One (1) position is required for a Project Manager to perform a broad scope of services working at the Savannah District Headquarters in Savannah, Georgia. The Project Manager would support the BRAC and MILCON in support of Fort Benning, Georgia.
Duration: Approximately one year beginning 30 April 2008 with Options to extend for two additional one year periods.
Specific tasks and responsibilities may include:
- Overall management, control, coordination and integration of assigned projects.
- Coordination and development of project management plans and appropriate acquisition strategies.
- Development and management of project schedules and budgets from receipt through construction contract award.
- Development and management of project scopes to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met.
- Plan and schedule accomplishment of design, appropriate reviews, and approvals of the project design. Obtains required data and criteria, resolves problems which arise, analyzes design costs, and prepares reports and correspondence.
- Administer and supervise Architect Engineer contracts for design projects including preparation of contracts, change orders, Government estimates, and coordination of reviews, acceptance of the completed work, and payment.

- Development and maintenance of project management information systems and preparation or delivery of presentations and routine briefings on the status of assigned projects.
These services require a broad technical background, a full and in-depth understanding of Corps of Engineers procedures and business processes, and a strong project management background.
The Project Manager must become familiar with the overall program directives, schedules, and pertinent policies including fiscal targets for design, and all relevant District administrative and reporting procedures pertinent to the assigned work.
Experienced, professional judgment must be applied in dealing frequently with customer requirements and acquisition methods.
Typical projects include new construction or major renovations to buildings such as major training facilities, operational facilities, community facilities and installation infrastructure projects. Projects typically vary in size from $1.5 Million to $25.0 Million.
