Admissions
Students entering the master's degree programs are expected to have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) both in the baccalaureate major area and overall from an accredited institution for regular admission. Two letters of recommendation from former undergraduate instructors are also required.
Doctoral candidates must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 in their master's degree program for regular admission. Three letters of recommendation from former professors are also required.
All students are required to take the general Graduate Record Examination (GRE). In addition to the test scores and the formal official transcripts of previous degree(s) awarded, a resume, and a statement of goals must be sent to the Office of Graduate Admissions, 129 Koch Hall, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA 23529, accompanied by the application fee.
Students with credentials not meeting the regular admission requirements may be considered for provisional admission.

Application may be made to only one graduate program at a time. No provisions are made at Old Dominion University for dual degree graduate study.
