Keith Tinsley
I contribute to my alma mater, Old Dominion University, because my education gave me the basic skills required to excel in my career. Upon graduation with my BSEE, I went to Arizona State University and received a master's degree in Electrical Engineering. The education, training, and problem solving skills I received while at ODU provided a strong foundation for success in graduate studies in Electrical Engineering.
I have worked with Motorola since 1996. I began my career in Arizona at Motorola's Space and Systems Technology Group, where I helped to develop engineering solutions for both the Iridium Satellite System and Teledesic-two satellite based communication programs. Recently, my wife Susan Tinsley Li and I have relocated to Illinois. My emphasis has changed, and I am now working in Motorola's Personal Communications Sector (PCS) developing personal communication solutions for consumers, including cell phones, personal digital assistants, etc.
When I think back on my education at ODU, I am thankful for the opportunities and challenges that I was afforded through my experiences with teachers, assignments, activities, and friends, because these influences helped lay the foundations that make my career so enjoyable.
Thank you,ODU!
