Jose J. Padilla is a doctoral student in the Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Department at Old Dominion University.  He serves as a graduate research assistant for the National Centers for System of Systems Engineering (NCSOSE). He received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from La Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Medellin) and an MBA from Lynn University. His research interests include (but not limited to) Complex Systems, System of Systems, Situational Understanding, Cognitive Engineering, and Knowledge Management. His current research is oriented to identifying ways to define problems under a situational framework to help achieve understanding while establishing observers' predispositions and differences.
