Anil Ustun is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Engineering Management in the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at Old Dominion University. He received a M.S. degree in Information Systems from the Informatics Institute at the Middle East Technical University, in Ankara, Turkey.
His research interest is in the domain of combat modeling and simulation (M&S) and the relation to command and control systems (C2S). His research interests include data engineering, military applications of M&S for analyses, training, and operational support, and application of respective commercial standards such as Model Driven Architecture (MDA), High Level Architecture (HLA) and Extensible Markup Language (XML). His current research is the evaluation of the U.S. Army's C2S documentation to identify to what degree the ideas of MDA already are supported or can be supported and where additional software support is needed.
