Distinguished Honors Celebration 50th Anniversary
Gala Call for Nominations!

The Frank Batten College of Engineering & Technology at Old Dominion University invites you to nominate candidates for the 2013 Distinguished Honors Celebration 50th Anniversary Gala annual awards in the categories of Leadership, Humanitarian, Pioneer, and Service.

These awards will be presented at the Second Annual Distinguished Honors Celebration to be held Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Westin Town Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The following are for eligibility and the nomination procedure for each award category:

LEADERSHIP AWARD

Presented for outstanding leadership within the engineering profession, industry, government and/or the local, national, and international community. Nominees do not have to be graduates of Old Dominion University. Past recipients of the Leadership Award: David Edwards (2010), Dr. Tommy Augustsson '81 (2011), and Ken Stepka '74 (2012).

HUMANITARIAN AWARD

Presented for outstanding humanitarian aid, service or support to benefit humanity locally, nationally, or internationally. Nominees do not have to be graduates of Old Dominion University. Past recipients of the Humanitarian Award: David Plum '79 (2010), George Sadler '72 (2011), and Gavin Gramstad '08 (2012).

PIONEER AWARD

Presented to an outstanding pioneer or innovator in the engineering profession, industry, and/or the local, national, and international community. Nominees do not have to be graduates of Old Dominion University. Past recipients of the Pioneer Award: W. Channing Blackwell '99 (2010), Stephen P. Wilkinson '71 (2011), and John Otto '09 (2012).

SERVICE AWARD

Presented to an outstanding pioneer or innovator in the engineering profession, industry, and/or the local, national, and international community. Nominees do not have to be graduates of Old Dominion University. Past recipients of the Service Award: Robert Kal '79 (2010), William LaBelle '89 (2011), and Rob Gies '90, '94 (2012).

Nominations must be submitted to engineer@odu.edu and shall include:
- Name, Occupational Address, Phone, and E-mail of nominee
- A Narrative Statement describing the nominee's qualifications for the award
- Name, Occupational Address, Phone, and E-mail of nominator
- Deadline for completed nominations is March 19, 2013.
