Trey Mayo

Administrative Role:

Assists the department chair, graduate program director and chief department advisor in their duties.  Also serves as the front-line advisor and student services coordinator for day-to-day interactions with the MSVE department by assisting with program marketing and recruitment, coordinating applications to the program, maintaining student files and forms, advising and orientating new students, handling course registration and scheduling matters, and assisting students with conducting business with other offices throughout the University.


Mr. Mayo joined the MSVE Department in March 2010.  Previously, he was the program advisor for the Interdisciplinary Studies-Teacher Preparation program and the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies program at Old Dominion.  Mr. Mayo has worked in various roles in higher education ranging from student activities, orientation, testing administration, and academic advising.  He has a particular interest on the first year experience of college life.  Mr. Mayo has also served as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Communication and Theatre Arts at ODU.  He is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), and also serves on various campus committees, including the Association of University Administrators (AUA) and the ODU Faculty/Staff Alumni Club.

In his spare time, he enjoys attending ODU campus events, reading, travelling, and the occasional good cup of coffee.
